Sophisticated and Classy
I've stayed at The Edition in NYC and this definitely brought me back. Walking in lobby and having this aroma in the air....having it now in my home it is so refreshing. It does have a unique smell that just feels quite sophisticated and classy. would def recommend it.

Such a Unique and Mysterious Scent!
I received Samples of most all the Hotel scents by Aroma360. Truthfully pretty much all of the scents smelled GREAT but there were a few scents that literally stood out from the crowd so to speak. The ones that stood out were, Black Velvet, November Rain and My Way. I seriously can not chose just one favorite from the lot. Black Velvet is the MOST unique of them all. Incredible aroma to say the least. I do have to point out though that it does smell almost completely different than the actual Edition Hotel scent. I also own the true Edition Hotel scent which I got from one of the other Hotel scent companies. They actually carry the authentic Edition Hotel scent. So with that, I have to say if you stayed at Edition Hotel and love their fragrance, Black Velvet will smell very different. If I did not know the scent of the actual Edition Hotel, it would be a pretty close tie in terms of which fragrance I like best. Both are AMAZING!!! Black Velvet is much more unusual and smoky smelling. My mom tried to write a review yesterday mentioning the same thing as I wrote here but since it was me that actually purchased the Black Velvet as a verified buyer, my review should show up. So my final verdict is, Black Velvet is Truly an AMAZING and completely different. You will not find anything remotely as mysterious as this Fragrance anywhere.

Great Aroma But...
Black Velvet is a really Great Fragrance BUT, it is completely different smelling than the Edition Hotel Scent. Black Velvet is a very smokey aroma and its great. The Edition Hotel is just so different smelling. I like them both a lot but if you went to Edition Hotel and were expecting Black Velvet to bring you back to that same aroma you will not be pleased. I have both the Black Velvet "Inspired" fragrance and the REAL Edition Hotels’ Black Tea & Fig fragrance. As I said they are both Great, just be aware that the Black Velvet is not the same scent as the real Edition Hotel fragrance. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because of that.
